Wow, Is facebook trying to take over the world? Does anyone spend any time on regular web sites these days? I am trying to keep the Schoon's Place dream alive but find that most of my status updates end up going to facebook. I like having my own place on the web so I will continue to post here and also post my photos here. Some of the things that facebook doesn't have is the ability to post whatever I want, no matter the length. I can also post the FULL size jpg pictures here and not the dumped down versions. Facebook is great for keeping in touch but there is still a reason to maintain this space. What do you all think, or is there anyone even reading this?

Welcome to another year at Schoon's Place! 2010, a new decade, wow! I wanted to start off with some grandiose statement about my world but frankly, I'm just glad to be on this earth for another year. Well, another day for that matter as we should all take them one day at a time. I'm not going into 2010 with all these massive statements of change or with dozens of resolutions that will most likely be broken. Instead I'm going to focus on little goals that are actually obtainable. Things like trying to let things not bother me so much sometimes. Things like picking up the phone to talk to friends instead of just facebooking or texting. Things like not eating out so much to save a few bucks here and there. Goals that will ultimately get me somewhere but aren't some pie in the sky dream that I'll never get to. So, why not write down a few of you goals for 2010 as well and make one of them a point to stop by Schoon's place once a month or so to see what's new. Maybe even drop me a line to say hello. Have a great year!

Just honestly haven't really had a lot to say lately. Things are going well but kind of on Cruise Control. I need to shake things up a bit and get moving again. Sometimes fall/winter will do that to you. I think it is the hibernation that is built deep into all of us where when it gets cold we just want to hole up and sleep. Oh well, I just wanted to let you know that updates will be coming soon which will include a new rant, updates on the diet and new photos. Of course if you're not a member here just use the email links on the right to send me a note and if I know you you will get access within a day or so. I've got a few new ideas cooked up too so keep an eye open for them and as always, thanks for stopping by!

New User Registration is now disabled

I am officially disabling on-site User Registration on Schoon's Place until further notice. The number of bogus requests I get is just not worth the effort. Going forward, if you need access please send me an email and I will manually create an account for you and provide your password via a return email. It's just been amazing to me how many people think that they would get access to this site so they could spam whatever it is they are trying to sell. Just find my email address on the site and send the request, I check often so it won't take too long to get the access you need. Have a great evening!

Lots of new Photos in the Gallery

Last night I spent some time updating the 2009 gallery. I added beach trip pictures, Kaylee and Will's last birthdays and a few others. I still have a lot of work to do as I'm way behind anyway but it is a start. I will work some more tonight on uploading more pictures. Also, I am fully aware it's been more than week since the last Rant and I have plenty of topics to rant on, just need to get the time to write it. All of my free time has been taken up lately with new Xbox 360 games as usual. This time of year it gets really crazy to be a gamer as all the new games are coming out to be given as Christmas gifts. I'll catch up, I always do.
