Yes I realize that it is Tuesday and no rant was posted last week. What can I say, Halo ODST came out and I was a little bit busy. I wrote a few weeks ago that it might not always come out on Thursdays and last week was just one example of how I can get busy with other things. Granted what I was doing had no real bearing on anything but if you haven't played the new Halo game it is actually worth going out and buying an Xbox 360 just so you can play it. First of all, bow your heads in a moment of silence for those that lost their lives on September 11th, 2001, eight years ago. On that tragic day this country was attacked and our world changed forever. Never forget and always remember that we live in the greatest country in the world!

Well here we are on Friday, technically I'm only a day late but I have a pretty good reason. This Wednesday my children's stepfather decided to take his own life. He was 39 years old and also had three of his own children, aging from 9-18. My immediate concern is my kids reaction to all of this and I'm also concerned for my ex-wife, she seems to be taking this all, very, very hard. Now at this point I'm not even really sure what I'm going to rant about so I'm just going to talk about suicide for a few minutes. First, I think it's the meanest most selfish thing that a person can do. Second, I think that it is sad that a person can get to a place where they truly think that the only option is to take their own life...

Schoon's Weekly Rant - Thursday August 27th, 2009

Another week, another rant. And look at that, it's actually Thursday and just last week I was talking about not being able to get the rant out on time due to life's little complexities. Oh well, you get the bonus plan this week and will get to read the rant prior to going into your weekend. This week has seen quite a few ups and downs in the news. The Dow is looking good but the government (particularly Obama) keeps telling us that things are going to get worse. Locally, we've got vigilante Grandpas and girls being picked up and raped in random parking lots...
